Dean, Applied Resear and Scholarship, Office of Research and InnovationMichael McNamara was appointed the new Dean of Applied Research and Scholarship in 2011.
Michael is an accomplished research and administrator with an established track record in the field of community development.
He holds a bachelor of arts in Political Science from Brock University, a master of arts in Political Science from Wilfrid Laurier University, and a PhD in Political Science from Simon Fraser University. He has published several articles on the topics of education reform, participatory development, and globalization in Latin America. His appointments prior to joining Seneca include a Faculty position with Cape Breton University’s Community Economic Development program, a Faculty position with Brock University’s Child & Youth Studies Department, and 1 year as the Director of Applied Research (Social Sciences) at NAIT.
