After a PhD in Synthetic Organic Chemistry and a fulfilling career in Pharmaceuticals in the US and Canada for two and a half decades, Dr. Treasurywala joined the University of Toronto Innovations Foundation in 2000.
From then until the present, Adi has served as President and CEO of five start ups and has helped close deals in aggregate worth roughly $10M. For approximately 5 years, Dr.Treasurywala served as the Chief Operating Officer of the University of Toronto Innovations Foundation (UTIF) with responsibility for teams in Life Sciences, Physical Sciences and IT/Telecom. He was simultaneously Director of Business Development at the University of Toronto. He is currently the President of ArrowCan Partners Inc. This unique company brings together the combined know-how of Dr. Treasurywala's industry and academic experiences into a cost-effective, superior model of early technology scouting for its client companies. He has served on the Board of Directors of the The Biotechnology Initiative (TBI) and currently serves on the Board of Youth Science Ontario. In 2009 Adi was awarded the TBI Volunteer of the Year award in acknowledgment of his many volunteer activities with different organizations. He has a proven track record in establishing and leading multidisciplinary and multinational teams to success in a whole spectrum of different areas ranging from chemistry and biophysics to business development. Throughout his career, Dr. Treasurywala has retained a strong commitment to contributing to the success of the teams with which he has been associated.
