Scott has assumed technical and marketing roles in the chemical industry (Polysar and Novacor Chemicals), training and policy implementation roles with the Ontario Environmental Training Consortium (a college consortium managing environmental training programs for the Ontario Ministry of Environment), and technical wastewater treatment technology marketing and business development roles with Water Technology International Inc. (WTI) and assumed a founders management role in Apex Residue Recovery Inc. (a WTI startup company).
Since 1997 Scott has assumed progressive roles with the University of Waterloo's technology transfer office providing intellectual property management service and technology licensing and spin-off company creation commercialization activities. In 2007, Scott assumed the role of Director of Commercialization of the Waterloo Commercialization Office (WatCo) and has been responsible for significantly growing the University of Waterloo's technology transfer capacity and building operational partnerships with external organizations such as the Waterloo based Accelerator Centre. Scott has attained both a BSc. degree in Chemistry and an MBA degree.
